Junior Cooking Workshop (Ages 6–12)
10 Tickets Available
Time: Fridays 9:30am – 11:30am
A warm, hands-on introduction to the kitchen! In this junior session, children will learn essential cooking and kitchen safety skills while making simple, delicious meals.
Activities focus on teamwork, creativity, and building independence — all within a calm and supported environment.
Each week, your child will take home a recipe card or mini menu so they can recreate the meal at home with the family — helping to extend the learning and build confidence in a real-world setting.
They’ll walk away with more than just a meal — they’ll develop life skills, healthy habits, and a love for helping in the kitchen and community.
What makes it special each week:
Children will be introduced to early maths skills in a practical and engaging way — measuring ingredients, reading simple recipes, and working with time and quantities.
They’ll enjoy sitting down together to eat the meal they’ve created, giving them time
to connect, chat, and build friendships in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
Each child will take home a small container of food to share with their family, giving
them something to be proud of.
A take-home menu card will be provided so families can recreate the recipe together
— extending the experience beyond the workshop.

Teen Cooking Workshop (Ages 13–17)
10 Tickets Available
Time: Fridays 12:30pm – 3:30pm
Our teen cooking workshop goes far beyond the recipe — it’s a space to grow confidence, independence, and life skills through the power of food. Whether your teen is brand new to cooking or already loves it, this workshop meets them where they’re at and helps them build from there.
Each session includes hands-on cooking, real-world kitchen skills, budgeting, and teamwork — with a focus on meals that are affordable, nutritious, and family-friendly.
We’re proud to be teaming up with Kath Palmer from Peel Community Kitchen, a respected community leader and advocate for feeding local families in need.
As part of our Community Cooking Initiative, teens will cook meals that support both local families and vulnerable members of our community. Some meals will be donated, while others will be made available to the public for a small donation to assist with kitchen hire and ingredient costs.
What Makes it special each week:
Teens will explore real-world numeracy as they learn to adjust quantities, measure
ingredients, calculate budgets, and break down the cost per serve.
Through food and shared experience, they’ll begin to form genuine friendships and
enjoy time to just sit together, eat, chat, and connect in a relaxed space that feels
safe and inclusive.
Each teen will also take home a container of food they’ve helped create —
something to proudly share with their family.
Plus, they’ll receive a simple recipe card to recreate the meal at home.
This isn’t just cooking — it’s confidence, contribution, connection, and community in action.
